B3 indices are an important performance indicator of the assets of the companies listed on the stock exchange. In addition to promoting the visibility of the companies that have earned the rank of "eligible" in the index portfolio, a company that gets there automatically gains the prestige of being part of a list that is composed by institutions that follow to the letter the best practices of transparency, credibility, discipline and commitment to their business.
Among the B3 indicators, Ibovespa is the most traditional one: it has international references and its history has over 50 years. Over the decades and in order to meet the needs of the market, some others emerged over time, notably Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE, in Portuguese), Special Corporate Governance Stock Index (IGC, in Portuguese), Electric Utilities Index (IEE, in Portuguese), Industrials Index (INDX, in Portuguese), SmallCap Index (SMLL) and MidLargeCap Index (MLCX).
